April 2012
Introducing our latest seasonal beer: Mine's a Mild.

A traditional English mild. This ale has a rich malty taste and lightly hopped to give a lovely balance and finish. At only 3.5% it is a great thirst quencher.

The Mild style of beer has recently had a renaissance thanks to CAMRA’s "Mild in May" campaign.

March 2012
The CAMRA Members' Weekend and AGM 2012 was held in Devon this year in Torquay. We had great fun at the event which was well attended and had over 70 beers on offer at the members bar. We were delighted that our stout, Tamar Black, sold out first.

January 2012
Introducing our first seasonal beer: Luv a Beer (pump clip).

A flavoursome session ale. At just 3.1%, this provides a lower alcohol option for those drivers having a meal or those wanting to have a few beers but want to keep their "faculties".

A beautiful deep ruby ale Perle hops are used lightly to give a nice balanced finish. Perfect for Valentine's but also a good session ale to fight off those winter blues.

November 2011
We set up our first market stall (view our stall here) on Weds 9th November in Holsworthy - the closest market to our brewery. The weather was a little drizzly but it didn't dampen our spirits.
We will be back each Wednesday until Christmas for purchasing bottles, gift packs, glasses, pump clips or ordering a pin of beer for a party.
We're also offering a selection of wines and beer related books.

Following our promotion in September, we managed to sell 1512 pints of Muck 'n Straw. This meant a donation of £75.60 to Clawton Young Farmers. Photo...

October 2011
Our stout, Tamar Black is launched. Tamar Black is a rich, deep roasted stout brewed with Goldings hops to give it a traditional taste but with enough bitterness to produce a balanced beer with pleasant finish.

All three of our beers are available on draught at the Old Market Inn, Holsworthy (as shown here!) and in a number of other pubs throughout West Devon and East Cornwall.  Bottles are available online via the North Coast Wine Company.

September 2011
Following the successful launch of Tamar Sauce in July this year, Holsworthy Ales has launched a new ale called Muck n Straw. To celebrate this new beer Holsworthy Ales are giving 5p from every pint sold in September 2011 to the local Young Farmers Club in Clawton.  Poster...

Dave Slocombe, the brewer at Holsworthy Ales said “We called our new beer Muck 'n Straw to reflect the fact we are in rural North West Devon and we have farms on all sides of the brewery. Everyone has been so supportive of our new business and we felt we should give something back. Young Farmers is a fantastic organisation which helps support young people in rural communities as well as providing a social network, educational projects and so on”.

Muck 'n Straw will be available throughout September in the Old Market Inn in Holsworthy and elsewhere throughout North and West Devon.

July 2011
Holsworthy Ales microbrewery is launched. Tamar Sauce, a 4.1% pale ale, is the first beer on sale in local pubs and post offices.   More info.. (Reproduced with kind permission of the North Devon Journal.)
